My philosophy on the value of art:
A leaf can be incredibly artistic or not artistic, but it wasn’t the leaf that was the art in the first place, it was how you saw it. It was that that leaf inspired you to think, feel or see something outside of your normal trajectory. This is what can inspire you to think in new terms and allows us to problem solve from directions.
Think about playing a game of pool. You can’t take the shots you can’t see, but if you can expand how you look at the landscape of possibilities in front of you, you can find different solutions to obstacles or even see obstacles as an opportunity. This allows us to expand our ability to see the world through other people’s eyes and be empathetic to the solutions that their mindsets, skill sets, situations and positions within those situations allow.
The better we come to understand one another, the more we can build together and find love for every component as well as take pride in the whole.
Seeing the beauty you’re moved by, is key to being able to live to celebrate life itself! Beauty overlooked is truly a sad thing but the more you can see, the more you’re inspired to look for in life, yourself and the people around you. If there was one factor that added to your ability to be absolutely grateful for the life you have, it would definitely be the ability to train yourself to see the magic in it and everything that makes it up!
Can you imagine how much the roles that being able to problem solve, being able to work together and seeing the beauty in all of it play in together on how all of us work to shape our worlds?
This is the true value of art.
