My Philosophy on the Value of Art
What shapes us?
Artistry is humanity’s imagination set in motion. When we direct it toward creating the world we dream of, the ceiling on what’s possible disappears, and we find our true potential. All great inventions, creations or solutions must first exist inside an inspired mind—searching for something better and actively using imagination to peer beyond the veil of possibilities into a greater future. The spirit that lies within all of us, that wonders what we’re truly capable of, drives us to imagine a world beyond the visible and create the framework from which all magnificent achievements are built.

Artistry is how we channel this spirit into creative problem-solving and planning by choosing how we interpret our situations and environment. How we see the world around us sets the subconscious parameters of what we view as possible. Expanding those parameters through exercising imagination unlocks our true potential.
A good friend and I had a metaphor that guided us: a leaf can be artistic or not artistic, but it wasn’t the leaf that inspired the thought, feeling or change—it was us who chose to listen closely enough to hear it. The act of choosing how we see our world directs our vision, allows us to take responsibility for the world we create and enables us to pivot when necessary to achieve the results we seek.
It also takes character, discipline, focus, leadership and hard work to bring a truly great vision of contribution into reality, but it first has to exist in the mind of someone willing to take it upon themselves to bring it to life.
Imagining what’s possible instills us with the ambition, hope and purpose to create a brighter tomorrow through focus, effort and will. That drive alone is the superpower that moves mountains. Master your will, mind and spirit, and there’s nothing you can’t accomplish.
